Contemplation

My thought for the day: Change is constant and life is short. The future holds the new. The present holds us and what has not yet changed, but we actually have some good idea of what the near future holds.

Take advantage of this time to appreciate the now and shape the future. Take that drive down a winding road (before your self driving, electric car does it for you). See natural environments (like the Giant Redwood Forest or Glaciers) while they still stand (and work to keep them that way). Look at the person next to you day after day and let them know you care. A good bit of what you experience is within your control and every day we make decisions to circumvent our own needs and priorities. Use your mind and your tools to change that.

I'm reminded of our own mortality and the mortality of our ideas over the last couple of days - don't fear change but celebrate your life, now and plan for the future (to allow the celebration to continue, for yourself, your loved ones and every beautiful being on this planet). Carpe Diem, yes. But more "Occupare Vita"... Seize Life.
